A generic forest area in Thailand contains numerous Rubber Trees (Hevea brasiliensis). A common site throughout the region, being one of Thailand’s main exports, the trees are ‘tapped’ to harvest the white sap from under the bark. A popular occupation of working class people to boost income, the commodity is known locally as "white gold". The practise can however be damaging to the environment, as large swathes of rainforest are cleared to make way for the plantations. This results in loss of habitat for native wildlife. The location is Ko Lanta, Krabi province, Thailand.
