Jesus chose twelve men to be his disciples or apostles. They came from all walks of life—tax collector to fisherman. They traveled with him during his ministry years. After his death, resurrection, and ascension, the disciples continued to share the message of Jesus. They shared his story and were empowered by the Holy Spirit to perform miracles.

As he went along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon’s brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen).
