Sand dune layers that have turned to rock. Then after a flooding rain. The porous sandstone absorbs some of the water. Then like an opal gemstone. The water along with the quartz molecules already within the rock, together bend light creating the colors of a rainbow. Also referred to as a prism effect. Image taken with 35mm film camera.
