The channel-billed toucan is a near-passerine bird in the family Ramphastidae found on the Caribbean island of Trinidad and in tropical South America as far south as southern Brazil and central Bolivia.
Climbing birds, left side: 1) Black woodpecker (Dryocopus martius); 2) European roller (Coracias garrulus, or Coracias garrula); 3) Great spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos major); 4) Common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis, or Alcedo ispida); 5) Hoopoe (Upupa epops); 6) Common cuckoo (Cuculus canorus). Right side: 1) Eurasian wryneck (Jynx torquilla); 2) European bee-eater (Merops apiaster); 3) Resplendent quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno, or Calurus resplendens); 4) Channel-billed toucan (Ramphastos vitellinus, or Ramphastus Temminckii); 5) Great hornbill (Buceros bicornis).
