The Carrizo Plain National Monument, located in southeastern San Luis Obispo County, California is one of those very isolated location where you can recollect yourself and integrate with the nature. Because the temperatures are often over 100F between mid May and mid October the park is closed during this interval. This photo was taken in August 2012. I didn't see any other person there or passing car on Soda Lake Road pictured in this photo during my 4 hours stay at this location. The bench sitting there and waiting the visitors from the next season is just an incredible visual element and a subject of meditation in the same time. A meditation about the power of the climate/nature over the human civilization. The mountain in the background a part of Saint Andreas Fault.
